This 1080p 52-inch Toshiba Regza LCD TV is part of the Cinema Series and delivers excellent picture quality at a very low price.  The set has Toshiba's ClearFrame 120Hz technology, which is effective though not as much as other 120Hz and 240Hz sets. Like some other Toshiba models it includes Dolby Volume, which helps balance the volume level when switching channels, changing inputs, or when a loud commercial comes on.

The 52XV648U has excellent HD and standard-definition picture quality. It does an excellent job displaying the finest detail in top-quality HD content. It gives you excellent color accuracy, good contrast and good brightness level.  With HD, it gives very good black levels, just shy of the best but more expensive sets.  It offers excellent, smooth reproduction of scenes with subtly shaded light-to-dark areas, such as a sky during sunset. It also goves excellent film-mode operation (3:2 pulldown) effectively eliminated jagged edges on 1080i HD and 480i SD movie content. You should find the sound to be good, suitable for typical TV programming.

The 52XV648U uses Toshiba's ClearFrame technology that doubles the TV's frame rate.  You will find to  only slightly reduces and does not eliminate motion blur. As is typical with all sets, you will adjust the color to suit you using individual RGB (red/green/blue) color controls.  The viewing angle is somewhat limited.
